I’m running for city council because I love our community and would like to invest my time and talent ensuring a healthy future for Cambridge.
My 25 years of business experience, 20 plus years as a homeowner, time invested as a volunteer mediator for Anoka County, and my master’s level education will aid me well in addressing issues that come before the council and in making decisions that will be to the benefit of the city and its residents.
Never before have I lived in such a special place. Neighbors are neighborly. People come together to support one another. And there is genuine interest and participation in community activities. While these may seem like small things, they make a world of difference…they make a strong community.
I firmly believe local government is about representing and respecting the many voices that make our city special. What makes healthy governance even stronger is community participation. In recent months, I have seen that participation during council meetings and will work to further increase citizen involvement in future council meetings. After all, the city does not “have its own” money per se, the city is a steward of its citizen’s tax money. I want the community to be involved in ensuring the council does that well.
It is important to me that we work to create a stronger bond between the City of Cambridge and Isanti County. Thus, with a broader perspective, better communication, and more cooperation, more positive changes can be made.
I am excited about having the privilege to serve this great city if I am elected to serve on the Cambridge City Council!
