I am running for Cambridge City Council because I believe by investing my time and talents, I can help ensure a thriving future for our city.
My belief is that local government is about representing and respecting the many voices that make our city a special place. I look forward to engaging with constituents regarding their concerns and ideas for our city.
My 25 years of business experience, 20 plus years as a homeowner, time invested as a volunteer mediator for Anoka County, and my master’s level education will aid me well in addressing issues that come before the council and in making decisions that will be to the benefit of the city and its residents.
Earlier this year I heard neighbors talking about our high city taxes are and that the taxes are expected to rise over the next decade. I was curious so I attended a handful of meetings and found exactly that, taxes are on the rise. I have linked to the city budge info below. On page 11 (of 39) you will see the projected tax levy increases through 2034. The current projection for 2026 is an 18.48% tax levy increase. If elected I will work to reduce this levy increase.

My understanding of the rail lines running in the metro area is that they have low ridership, are not profitable and that there are crime issues. I am concerned that the cost of this project would far out weigh the benefits to our community. If elected, I will not be supporting this initiative.

My campaign volunteers and I have knocked on hundreds of doors. As we meet people we ask what concerns they have at the city level. The responses shared with us are so helpful in informing me of the things on the minds of citizens in each neighborhood. Topics brought up include, but are not limited to high taxes, code enforcement concerns, street repairs, street signage, the desire for a family restaurant in town, interest in a community center or a field house, the mosquito spraying chemicals and timing of the spraying, etc.
